VCF Import Preflight
Prepare several contact exports for one import, or split a large address book into smaller batches. Check the records first, then download files without sending contact details to a server.
1. Choose VCF files
Choose one or several .vcf files from your device. Processing stays in this browser; the total input limit is 20 MB.
Google Contacts warns that importing over 3,000 contacts can cause problems and recommends splitting large CSVs. We use 3,000 as a cautious VCF batch default, not a guaranteed VCF limit. Other apps may differ.
The original files remain untouched. The output keeps complete vCard records, including photos and custom fields, but does not merge or delete contacts. Make a backup and test a small import first.
2. Review and download
Choose files, then select Check and prepare.
Each batch needs its own download tap, especially on mobile. Import one batch at a time and check the destination for duplicates before continuing.
Why split a contact file?
Google Contacts warns about imports with more than 3,000 contacts and suggests splitting large CSVs. This tool applies a cautious batch size to VCF files while preserving complete record content. It cannot detect duplicates already in your destination account and is not a full vCard compatibility validator. See Google's import guidance.
